Outrank Content Boundary Rules (v2 — multi-channel platform)
Overview
Adwave uses two content publishing streams that must not overlap:
- Adwave Editorial (this repo) — paid advertising content published through Contentful
- Outrank — daily organic/owned-channel SMB marketing content published via the Outrank platform (lands at
adwave.com/resources/...alongside Adwave editorial; distinguished by noauthorfield)
The Boundary Rule
Paid advertising = Adwave editorial. Organic/owned channels = Outrank.
This is the v2 rule, reflecting Adwave's shift from CTV-only to a multi-channel ad platform (TV + Google + YouTube + Meta + Reddit + display). If Adwave runs ads on a channel, content about that channel belongs on Adwave.
The original v1 rule ("TV/CTV = Adwave, everything else = Outrank") is superseded but still visible in the original calendar/outrank-180-day-topics.csv plan structure. Use calendar/v2/outrank-topics.md as the canonical topic list.
Adwave Editorial Owns These Topics
- All paid advertising channels: TV/CTV, Google Ads, YouTube Ads, Facebook/Instagram Ads, Reddit Ads, display
- Streaming platforms (Roku, Hulu, Tubi, Pluto TV, Peacock, Netflix, etc.)
- OTT, programmatic advertising, DSPs
- Ad CPMs, ad cost analysis, multi-channel benchmarks
- Multi-channel strategy, ad budget allocation, cross-channel ROI
- Industry-specific advertising guides — Phase 3 (TV-focused) and Phase 4 (multi-channel)
- Political advertising
- Adwave platform guides ("Using Adwave" content)
- Competitor comparisons (Adwave vs MNTN, Vibe, etc.)
- Advertising case studies
- Stat snapshots (viewing data, market size, ad spend)

- If the topic involves a paid advertising channel Adwave delivers ads on, it belongs to Adwave editorial
Current Status (as of 2026-05-06)
- Outrank has published Days 1-57 of the original plan (Day 45 LinkedIn skipped). Days 45 + 58-114 imported on 2026-05-06, expected to publish through ~July 4, 2026 at ~1/day.
- Outrank previously had a 10-day off-plan stretch (Apr 27 - May 6, 2026) where it self-generated topics that drifted into Adwave editorial's territory. Those 10 are listed in
keywords/already-targeted.mdand must NOT be duplicated by Adwave editorial. - Days 115-180 (final 66 of the original plan) are queued for import via reminder routine

As Outrank publishes pieces, the keyword tracker (keywords/already-targeted.md) is the canonical record. The Outrank section there tracks reserved clusters AND any off-plan posts that land in Adwave's lane.
